Your right to an estimate of expected charges under the No Surprises Act.
Last Updated: September 22, 2026
Under the No Surprises Act (effective January 1, 2022), health care providers are required to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including chiropractic care.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency health care services, including chiropractic care, spinal decompression, laser therapy, ShockWave therapy, physiotherapy, wellness care, and related items and services.
When you schedule a service at least 3 business days in advance, you are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 1 business day after scheduling. If you schedule a service at least 10 business days in advance, the estimate is due within 3 business days after scheduling. You can also ask for a Good Faith Estimate at any time before your service — please call us and we will prepare one.
The Good Faith Estimate will include the expected charges for the items and services that are reasonably expected to be provided together, including any services provided by other providers as part of the same course of care. For recurring services such as a treatment plan, the estimate may cover a period of up to 12 months of expected care.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. You have the right to initiate the patient-provider dispute resolution process, which will not adversely affect the quality of the health care services furnished to you.
Make sure to save a copy of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate or the dispute process, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call the No Surprises Help Desk at 1-800-985-3059.
The Good Faith Estimate is not a contract or agreement to provide specific services. The estimate shows the costs of items and services that are reasonably expected at the time the estimate is created. Your actual charges may differ from the Good Faith Estimate if your treatment needs change during the course of care.
The Good Faith Estimate does not require you to obtain the items or services from our office.
Our published self-pay fee schedule is still being finalized. Until it is posted, estimates will be prepared individually on request rather than drawn from a published price list.
