Most chiropractic offices have an adjusting table and one therapy device. This one has three shockwave systems, two Class IV lasers, a computer-driven decompression table, thermal imaging and X-ray — in the same building, used by the same doctor who examines you. This page is a straight inventory of what is here and what each piece is used for.
When an office owns a single therapy device, every case tends to be shaped to fit it. With this much in-house, the device is chosen to match the tissue being treated and its depth. Dr. Matthew Richter, DC has been in practice 29+ years, and treats athletes regularly — and he is the one selecting and running the equipment, alongside Dr. William Choi.
Having the equipment is not the same as needing it. Your examination decides what actually applies to you — and if none of it does, you will be told that too.
Radial and focused shockwave are different technologies, not two settings on the same machine. Both are here, from Storz Medical, plus the Storz Magnetolith EMTT system — so the device can be matched to the tissue being treated and its depth.
A radial pressure wave device from Storz Medical. Energy is delivered at the skin surface and disperses over a broader, shallower area β used across larger muscle regions and superficial soft tissue.
A focused shockwave device from Storz Medical. Energy is concentrated at a selected depth rather than spread across the surface β used when the target tissue, such as a tendon insertion or a calcification, sits deeper and is more precisely located.
Extracorporeal Magnetotransduction Therapy β a high-energy pulsed electromagnetic field device used for musculoskeletal conditions. It is applied without direct contact with the skin, and is commonly used in the same visit as shockwave.
Class IV is the therapeutic laser class used for deeper tissue work. Two units are in-house, one of them a 40-watt LightForce deep tissue laser.
Non-surgical spinal decompression is delivered on a computer-driven table rather than by hand or by a fixed-weight pulley. The table controls the angle, the amount of traction and the cycle over the course of a session, following a protocol set for your case.
The office also runs a Back on Trac system, and a Knee on Trac system that applies the same decompression principle to the knee joint rather than the spine — used in the knee program alongside shockwave and laser.
Whether decompression is appropriate for you depends on your examination findings and, where relevant, your imaging — not on the fact that the equipment exists.
